My Youtube Channels

Ten years ago I left my new efforts on Youtube to improve my techniques, but didn't return.

Increasingly, I had also halted most of the blog writing. Due to life changes, pressures, and health issues which had to be addressed, if not resolved.

Thankfully, I HAVE made enough improvements (with God's help!) that I now can resume this chapter.

The Youtube channels that I had started were the Garden one, and one related to Ilona's Reflecting Pool topics.

It is the Reflecting Pool channel, "Ilona's Chalkboard", which I will start working on. It is most in sync with what type of content topics I wish to create at this time.

Tools I'm Using

I upgraded a number of my tools and methods. Believe it or not, I formerly recorded through the laptop web camera. Unbelievably awkward when filming outdoors. and my screen went black while recording.

Can you believe it? Now I have an iPhone that while not recent is decent for recording (11 Pro).

Microphone

Used a wired lavalier for a few attempts. Upgraded to wireless. As time goes on I will invest in better ones.

Lighting

As of now, only one of those circle lights for the phone and natural lighting.
Yes, need to add to this. I did order a strip light for background.

Gizmos

I needed a gimball to hold my video more steady and create walk and talk rolls. Testing this, I am super happy for this investment.

Method

I am going back to basics. Using IMovie and Final Cut to edit what I film on my iPhone.

Once I had hoped to learn Adobe software, but never mastered that learning curve. I am intending to learn Da Vinci, but in the meantime, not waiting to create.

The Gimball I Bought

This is the gimball I bought- I really needed something that helps me film more professionally. This works really nicely in the test recordings I did.

I Will Post a List on Amazon

For all the equipment I am using I will post a list on my Influencer page. Link will appear here when finished and ready to go live.

Ten Years Not Wasted

The ten years away were not wasted. Why? I watched a ton of Youtube over that time. It became my main online activity. You passively learn quite a bit from watching other people's efforts and forming opinions on what you personally like as a consumer of content.

I also used much of the watch time on tutorials and advice about how to create youtube videos.
